Accessibility on Valdremor

We want every part of Valdremor, from the realm map to the halls and the Library, to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, a phone or a large screen.

What we do

  • Every control is a real button or link and can be reached with the keyboard; focus is always visible.
  • Text meets WCAG 2.2 AA contrast on our dark background, and body text is at least 16 pixels.
  • Calm mode removes motion everywhere and shows results at once; the site also follows your system's reduced-motion setting.
  • Cards, dice and numbers have text labels for screen readers, and every result is written out in the verdict line.
  • The realm map is a set of ordinary links; the halls are also listed in plain text on the home page and on the Halls page.
  • No time limits: nothing in a round has to be done quickly.

Known limits

The reel boards show symbols as pictures with text alternatives, but following a fast sequence of results with a screen reader can be tiring; calm mode helps. The map pins are small on narrow phones, so every landmark is also listed below the map.

Tell us about a barrier

If something is hard to use, write to hello@valdremor.co.uk with the page and what happened. We aim to reply within two working days and to fix problems quickly.
